Janna's work (lilacpop) is great, and i totally agree with Matt. Detroit Moxie and Positive Detroit are incredible resources!

Awesome. Love Street Culture Mash! I document all my experimentations with art/photography/jewelry design including taking things apart and reusing them in my jewelry (like pill bottles and cash registers).

Here's a great interview with Kerri Kneff from Amnesty International at USSF: http://www.livestream.com/freespeechtv/vid…
At least this will give Detroit an opportunity to showcase its commitment to grassroots politics and activism, which is often left out of the media - including its sustainability!

We can't wait to be in Detroit and to provide 24/7 coverage of the US Social Forum on our website (http://www.freespeech.org). Detroit is a critical city for the country's economic recovery and hopefully, through events like this Forum, can pave the way to a greener, more just society. --caleb/FSTV
sorry, but how can you have an article about detroit and not talk about this country's and michigan's complete abandonment of the african american population that lives there? that's great that there will be bikes, but with the amount of money that people are spending on staying in chain hotels this next week, we could have actually done some reparation work.
Great article. The Forum represents a wonderful opportunity for organizations and individuals from Detroit, the nation, and world to learn from each other and collaborate on future actions for a more just world. Between the Forum next week and the Allied Media Conference this week, it's a beautiful time to be in Detroit!
Phat Kat is a hater lol. Notice while he's hatin' on gay people, he choose the name "Phat Kat"... well, the last I heard, that stand for one big p*ss*! And his music is whack, he's not even selling--in fact, he's not even known outside of Detroit! Whack Kat.
Holla!

Woo Hoo some of my favorite items are on here! Michigan is the bomb, and I do not plan on ever leaving. You can even go far up North to tour, who else can say that about their state?
