Re: “The Great Divide

Nice article Treasure. I think you nailed what you set out to do. We both come off as having a bit of an attitude but that comes with the territory I guess. ( Thanks for the mention of the film. Maybe it will get a few more folks to go see it! )

Re: “Gibraltar Trade Center

The fun does not stop there! There are phones, Lottery, booming car audio, expert air brush artists, portrait artists, sometimes pictures with rescued tigers or tortoises, or Fennik Foxes (look it up) creamy cupcakes, pretty darn decent food court, coins, swords, knives, purses, leather jackets, fine silver and gold, and costume jewelry, embroidery shops for all your van crew needs, a cute candy store, furniture, clothes, candles, antiques, collectibles, dollar stores and do not, yes, do not forget the area rugs! Lots more thatn Sci fi , but if that is what floats your boat and your fixate on that kinda stuff.... There are carpets, shag, to sculpted, to whatever color you need for your loft apartment. In the summer, the flea market under the canopy adds another dimension, and do NOT forget live music every Friday night all summer long under the pavilion with a full bar and top shelf drinks. Not to mention the outside Truck Warz and Car shows, motorcycle blessing. Need I go on?

Re: “Fiery Spirits

yer right, tequila tasting should be more serious. cuz that makes sense. go read NY Times, douche.

Re: “Fiery Spirits

I am pretty sure RDW has never claimed to be anything but fun, light entertainment that covers music, food, fashion, and local events. No, they're not covering what's going on in Libya, Rick Snyder's new policies or the recent tornadoes that devastated the south recently. It's a silly write up on tequila in a Cinco de Mayo issue. You stopped reading after "my friends and wore silly props and drank tequila last nite...", I didn't even see that in this article. Hmmm, maybe I need to get some hipster glasses to see what you saw. Get a sense of humor and a life. You seem like a miserable person, perhaps a shot of blue agave would make you a bit less tense. Adios ass.

Re: “Fiery Spirits

this is great...and by "great", i mean obnoxious and highly unnecessary. i'm glad you feel self-important enough to consider drinking with your friends "journalism". imagine a world where every monkey who goes drinking with his friends is allowed to subject a yawning public to his self-proclaimed witty repartee. i didn't read enough of the story to find out which tequila got the best review because i started to zone out shortly after "my friends and wore silly props and drank tequila last nite...". i'd really like to believe that the glasses in the photo were part of the costumes you deemed necessary to garner more attention for yourselves during your "tasting"... but i'm mostly convinced that you were all shopping at the same "leftovers from portland" hipster store and were too busy congratulating each other on your edgy-ness to notice you were wearing them out together. thank you for giving me another reason not to read RDW.

Re: “Marijuana

Marijuana has repeatedly been proven to NOT cause cancer, heart disease, brain damage, liver disease, emphysema, or any other significant health issue, and its addiction potential is about on par with coffee. In all respects, marijuana is far safer than beer and wine and should, at the very least, be controlled by exactly the same laws as alcohol.

We need legal adult marijuana sales in supermarkets, gas stations and pharmacies for exactly the same reason that we need legal alcohol and tobacco sales - to keep unscrupulous black-market criminals out of our neighborhoods and away from our children. Marijuana should be legal to sell to adults everywhere that alcohol and tobacco are sold.

Re: “Taste Of The Town

Smoky Red Pepper Hummus
This recipe makes an attractive, chunky hummus with a nice finish.
Blend together:

* 1 cup cooked garbanzo beans
* 1 clove of garlic
* 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
* ¼ teaspoon of kosher salt
* 1/8 teaspoon of smoked paprika

Stir in:
1/3 cup minced red pepper

Allow the flavors to blend overnight. This is especially tasty with raw veggies, nan, or unsalted tortilla chips.

Re: “Pawn-ography

My best friend worked in a pawn shop for years so I was interested in seeing how Hardcore Pawn would turn out and I have to admit even though I don’t normally like reality shows I do enjoy this one. It reminds me (because of all the haggling) of when I had cable and would have to call in and negotiate a better price basically every month. It took up a lot of my valuable time and I always ended up very frustrated (even when I got my way). Eventually I got sick of it and switched to DISH Network—I’ve never looked back. With DISH I’ve enjoyed a lower price and more channels and now that I actually work for DISH as well I get to see all the effort this company puts into its customer service. It took a lot of hard work to be ranked number one in overall customer satisfaction among cable and satellite TV providers in last years ACSI survey but I’m proud that I was a small part of that success.
