Our Best Of issues are a labor of love. Lots of time and energy go into putting together what our readership has acknowledged as Detroit's best, and we like to think that we've crafted a comprehensive listing of awards for a year's worth of accomplishments by some of the best people, mom n' pop shops, businesses and conglomerates in metro Detroit. It's not just an opportunity for you, our readers, to acknowledge the most esteemed companies and establishments, it's a way for us to say "thank you" to all of the great individuals and groups out there that make the Motor City the melting pot of culture that it is. The love stories that the New York Times and Los Angeles Times have written about the remarkable art scene, musical legacy and foodie haven in our city were reported on by travelling journalists capturing a snapshot in time.
