Choosing the “Best” anything is always a hard job — one that can involve some really serious reflection and inspection — and it’s a task that we at Real Detroit impose upon you, our dear readers, every year. But all of the hard work that is put into the making of this specific paper pays off big, as The Best Of Detroit issue is always unlike any other we publish. This is not only your year-long guide to both the city and the surrounding area, but it’s something to hold onto, a time capsule of nuance and nostalgia.
This very paper, which your'e reading at this very moment, is a celebration of all that the Detroit area has to offer — from cuisine to commerce, beauty to booze, mass media to local music moguls, it’s all inside these very pages! We want to thank you all for taking on the task of choosing the best of the best, you worked hard and now it’s time to reap your reward.
As always though, the culmination of this issue is not only an undertaking for voters, but also for our incredible staff who put innumerable hours into all of the organizing, writing and photography that went into making this issue something really special for you.
