There are only a few things you need in order to create the perfect neighborhood bar. Start out with a great location, throw in some awesome service and temper everything with reasonable pricing and you've got yourself the best recipe for everyone's favorite place to stop for lunch, for an after work drink or for a night of drunken revelry.
The Hideout in Clawson has all those ingredients, plus more. Located on 14 Mile Road, it's close enough to Royal Oak to keep it on your roster of must-hit bars while planning a night of bar hopping and it's far enough away to escape the throngs of partiers lining the streets of downtown.
With 11 TVs plus one giant projector screen, this bar isn't just ideal for getting a drink, it's also the perfect place to catch the game. Offering specials during every game, The Hideout also airs those matches on that aforementioned humongous screen. With specials like $2.50 for any domestic beer as well as 99-cent coney dogs plus beer buckets starting at $9, we couldn't recommend a better place to settle in for the entirety of the Lion's season.
Game days specials aren't the only ones offered here either. Actually, there are specials practically every day of the week. Sundays are Customer Appreciation Day, offering $2 well drinks and 23-oz. drafts and a $3.99 menu to anyone who walks in the door.
Martini Madness every Monday is yet another amazing special this bar offers, for $5 you can create your own martini choosing from their truly vast Pinnacle Vodka selection. We personally suggest anything with the cookie dough variety. It tastes, quite literally, like chocolate milk when mixed with Bailey's Irish Cream and it is downright dangerous.
On Tuesdays all tequila is $1 off and Mexican food is on the menu, Wednesday features whiskey specials, Thirsty Thursdays all about liquor and Fridays and Saturdays host a number of drinks specials too long to list.
With a pool table, darts, plenty of TVs and Keno plus cheaper drinks than you can find damn near anywhere, do you really need more incentive to visit downtown Clawson and grab a cold one (or four)? If you're in the miniscule minority that's not yet convinced, The Hideout also offers a rewards program. That's right: Drink beer, get free stuff. Sound like a win-win, eh? So this is how it works: anyone can join the rewards program, you'll get a card which will track your points, and for every purchase you make, you get a number of points based on the price of the item you bought – and once that little plastic card racks up 200 points, you get ten bucks off your tab, whether it be food, drinks or both. Sounds like a good deal, right? That's because everything at The Hideout is. |RDW
