Kaleido Pop? Punk? Rock? Sure, sounds good to us! Kaleido is an up-and-coming juggernaut from the Detroit suburbs who has managed to take Michigan captive in recent months without the assistance of a garage rock or EDM backbone. Christina Chriss' vocals, Joey Fava's drumming and enthusiasm, Ronnie Rosolino's axe work and Cody Morales (besides a kick-ass name) working his magic on the bass have all blended to bring forth a pop-rock hybrid that is raw, real and fun all at the same time. With a packed gigging schedule this week – including an acoustic set at Zumba in Royal Oak on 6/27 at 5 p.m. and a slot on the Stars & Stripes Budweiser National Stage on 7/1 at 5:45 p.m. In the meantime, here's what they've been jamming out to for inspiration:
City & Colour – Bring Me Your Love
Eminem – The Slim Shady LP
Foo Fighters – Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace
The Used – Vulnerable
The Black Keys – El Camino
Kid Rock – Devil Without A Cause
Mayer Hawthorne – How Do You Do
Blink-182 – Enema Of The State
