In a plethoric world of carbon copies, the sincerity of Hot Chip feels fresh with every new album. This British quintet's indie-electro-rock tastefully slips in little exotic gems of sound from previous decades, jazz and R&B, producing a composition so pleasingly delicious yet sensuously electrifying, emitting a thoughtful stimulation of emotional catharsis. Their album is built on dance-floor numbers with a few sentimental tracks woven in. And even though their dance numbers are much more enticing than the jazzier serious ones, the whole album is a perfect electronic soundtrack to play at the hippest of parties.
