With the release of one of the most highly-anticipated movies in recent memory, we find it only fitting to point out to you that The Dark Knight Rises would not exist were it not for the creative and fantastic comic book industry. And one of the best local companies with which to get your comic and graphic novel fix, Comic City, happens to have three convenient locations: Canton, Novi and Pontiac. That's where you can get not only the best of Marvel and DC, but also some of your lesser-known favorites too (plus shirts, posters and action figures). And they've been at it for almost 20 years – although business has actually never been better. "This year, more than ever, we are seeing a positive response to all the people in the Avengers movie," owner Bob Smethers says, "in addition to the buildup for The Dark Knight Rises." It's also worth noting that they will be moving their Novi store to 14 Mile and Haggerty as of 8/1. So, go show some appreciation and pick up a few of your favorite titles.
