Sobrehumano Palena 'Ole
Maui Brewing Co. is to Hawaii what Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales is to Michigan. The craft beer industry is booming, no matter what state you reside in, and – lucky for us – two of the finest breweries in the United States have collaborated to create a one-of-a-kind, super-duper limited release, named Sobrehumano Palena 'Ole. Roughly translated from a hybrid of Spanish and Hawaiian, it means "superhuman" or "limitless." Well, this collab is most certainly both of these things. A ruby-colored ale, it's both tart and sweet (from having been brewed with cherries and the Hawaiian equivalent of passionfruit), and is being produced by both breweries, each with their own traditional brewing process. The combined result, as previously noted, is über -limited to a run of 4,000 cases and 80 barrels – and if you have any idea what type of limited production that is, you know this delicious brew is going to spark quite the frenzy among beer aficionados due to its spectacular taste and limited availability. Lucky for you, it will be available for tasting at the Summer Beer Fest!
