Dooley's Irish Tavern

No matter what Dooleys location you happen to stop by (Sterling Heights, Mt. Clemens or Roseville), you're likely to find just about the same thing – a great selection of drinks and fantastic food. Dooleys is all about consistency – they want you to experience the best food possible every single time. The Roseville location, just a quick jog off I-94 that makes it easily accessible for everyone, is fortunate to have a solid staff and a versatile menu. And with an ever-evolving selection of specials, they have – literally – something delicious for everyone.

No matter what your taste preference, Dooleys has more than one option for you. There are, obviously, things that they do best. Fortunately for everyone, those things are universally-beloved foods. A slew of hamburgers (including tons of rotating specials), one suited for any appetite, line the menu in addition to great pizzas (which includes an amazing BLT pizza), sandwiches and tons more. In fact, if there's something you have been getting there for years – this place has their fair share of regulars, so there are definitely folks who have frequented Dooleys for a long time – that they don't have on the menu anymore, they likely have the ingredients to make it for you. And that's the best part – one of the things they do at Dooleys that you don't experience everywhere is make every attempt at never saying "no".

General manager Drew Franklin is the master of consistency and adaptation. Constantly tweaking the menu and experimenting (and not like a mad scientist – some of these inventions are incredible) in an effort to keep things fresh, new and satisfying. For instance, the Megatron Burger is your standard hamburger (and by standard, I mean not a store-bought soggy bun and greying slab of ground chuck) that is not only juicy and delicious, it's topped with cheddar, bacon, pickles, tomato, onions and their "secret" sauce, which is just the right amount of zip to keep things interesting. I'm not even a fan of burgers, and I'd stuffed two-thirds of this thing into my fat face without even realizing it.

When you're talking consistency, however, Dooleys definitely knows how to keep the fan favorites around and keep their regulars happy. From their beer-battered, freshly-caught cod fish and chips to several corned beef offerings and the aforementioned pizza (for which they make the dough fresh daily), they know how to keep people coming back time and time again. Their corned beef, specifically, has quite the history. They not only get it locally, from Groebel's, they also slice it super-thin so that it stacks up a mile high on their delicious grilled marble rye.

To provide you with a full experience, their staff is also educated as to which of their craft beers (which there is a massive offering of) pair best with each entrée – something few establishments even bother worrying about. But that's the way they do it here, by providing you with good food time and time again. | RDW
