Kiss

If you somehow found yourself immune to the infectious pop super single that was "Call Me Maybe," this record is not for you. If you, however, like to use the world of bubble gum pop as your secret escape from reality, you will find Ms. Jepsen's sophomore release to be an adequate addition to your Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato record collections. There aren't any tracks on Kiss that come anywhere near close to being as catchy as Jepsen's breakthrough hit and the record never strays too far from the subject of unrequited teenage love, despite the fact that this singer graduated from adolescence about eight years ago. And don't get me wrong, this record isn't terrible. In fact, fans of pop music (i.e. teen girls and Kurt Hummel) will probably really like Kiss. But it would have been nice to hear something a little less recycled.

Worth a Listen: "Call Me Maybe"
