323East has, in the short span of two years, earned an enviable position as one of the most eclectic and discerning galleries in the metro area. Past solo exhibits have been devoted to Glenn Barr, David Foox, and Mark Heggie; at the same time the artspace has organized major thematic group shows with equal success. No less importantly, 323 has been a welcoming and encouraging location for numerous Detroit artists who needed a suitable and fitting launching pad for their inaugural efforts.
