Cherry Popped What a hot weekend! First, Zodiac Vodka launched their fabulous new Black Cherry Vodka at an exclusive party at Greektown Casino’s Eclipz Ultra Lounge. DDays is putting this vodka on its top 10 favorite list. The devilish new elixir was celebrated with the a Damned II Devil Girl Pageant plus Zodiac Black Cherry giveaways, Damned II VIP giveaways and live electro fetish rock by Haf/Life. And speaking of the Damned II show, read about it in the next issue of RDW.
Mr. 305 in the 313 Sound Board at Motor City Casino was rocked on Friday by Pitbull. With his tracks blasting at every club in the nation and his Rebelution record climbing the charts, Pitbull’s concert was clearly the hottest ticket of the season so far. Steve Anthony promoters and brothers Marvin, John and Steve Manour were our gracious hosts and plied DDays with drinks and exclusive backstage access. DJs David B and Roc Boy got the capacity crowd moving early while Gogo hotties Miss Detroit and Bella showed the ladies how to really shake it ... and Detroit women are better now because of it. At midnight, Mr. 305 himself took over the stage and put on an insane show full of smash hit songs and samba grooves that made the ladies scream. Afterward, DDays hung out with Pitbull on his tour bus for exclusive pictures and stories of the hotel room antics. Well … we can’t tell you everything that went down — let your imaginations run wild, people.
Zombie Swap The air is getting colder and Halloween draws near … yada yada yada. To get in the spirit of creepy things DDays went to the Zombie Showdown and Swap Meat at the Belmont on Saturday. Yes, meat is spelled that way on purpose, it’s not a typo. We were excited for the sneak preview of The Ded Dave Show, which will be airing on CW 50 on Devil's Night at 3 a.m. The evening at The Belmont showcased the bands Subourbon Son, Graveside Manor and the Casket Bastards, with a midnight viewing of Ded Dave. Let us just say that a zombie mixed in with humor and a drunken plant creature named Bog (who is a bit of an attention whore) equals … awesome! Bog was spotted that evening at the Belmont doing what he loves best: drinking booze! The Detroit-filmed show is hilarious and the mastermind is Dave Taylor of The Casket Bastards and the Amino Acids. He and two of his good friends, Jerry and Jeremy, got together and the wheels were set in motion to create The Ded Dave Show. We think Detroit may have a new classic ... and it's been a while (The Ghoul, Sir Graves…and now Ded Dave).
He Isn't Far, Far away Don’t jizz in your pants, fanboys, but the most evil man to have lived in a galaxy far, far away is in Detroit. Hayden Christensen (also known as the young, pretty version of Darth Vader) is starring in Vanishing on 7th Street. The film is directed by Brad Anderson from The Machinist and Fox show Fringe. The movie will be shot in and around downtown D. It focuses on a group of survivors — including the gorgeous Thandie Newton — who try to survive an apocalyptic scenario by escaping a Langoliers-like blackness that has devastated the world‘s population. So, look for the Lacoste fragrance model near you.
Godfather's B-Day The Garden of Eden was abuzz on Saturday with the birthday of Detroit’s own Brian Jeffries (aka DJ Godfather). Partymonsters Craig Jelenik and Kevin Cermak were poppin' bottles in the corner VIP booth with the super-Maxim hottie Tiffany Stone. Eden owner Vlad and Elite promoter Rick Pinkowski made sure DDays was properly entertained and filled with fine vodka. (Oh, how we love our job). Barbie and fellow Playhouse Dolls beauties, Blaze and Bella, slithered on the poles and all over the dance floor. (Again, did we tell you how much we love our job?) Close friends DJ Who, Stirfry, George, Patrick Hayes, DJ Dano and Rick Wade were all on hand to share in the festivities and drag Brian on to the after party.
That’s what we did on Saturday — can you top it? | RDW
