Asylum Fashion House's Spring/Summer 2012 collection shown at the closing night of Detroit Fashion Week was easily one of the favorites of the evening. The swimwear collection brought in classic cuts with the high waisted bikini bottoms and string tops, along with sassy cutouts and luscious ruffling. We loved the modern textures of the black alligator with the romper style swimsuit, monokinis, and the asymmetric floral one piece. The fashion house also included examples of some t-shirt designs of their label. Each look was undoubtedly sexy and well crafted. If you thought Detroit wasn't fresh, you are sadly mistaken. Streetwear boutique, REVIVE, stays lacing Michigan citizens in the freshest gear - I don't even know how else to say it. I appreciate Revive's eye looking beyond t-shirts and sneakers. It's the little things that count, and those little things could be anything from a pair of vintage Cazal frames to signature Givenchy chains.

The opening collection for the Detroit Fashion Week closing night was presented by designer, Kate Lorenz. The collection had fall hues all over it with deep, cool colors, blacks, and burgundies. The velvets and layered designs were also much more Fall than Spring, but the sleeveless mini-dresses and wedding gowns brought it back to right around April. Our favorite parts of the collection was with the sheer blouse, ruffled evening dress, and the rose filigree dress. See below for her full runway showcase.
